Introduction


The VII Hydrocarbons Exploration and Development Congress, under the slogan Envisioning a new century..., invites all professionals and technical experts within the oil and gas industry to actively participate in this multidiscipline proposal.

One of the objectives of this Congress is the expansion of HC Exploration and Development, using new technologies and methodologies that represent the evolution of an industry with more than a century of history in the country.

Throughout the history of exploration and its discoveries, great effort and imagination has been required from all professionals involved in Geosciences. The VII Congress provides a framework where these discoveries can be shared and where challenges can be sorted.

The growth in energy demand promotes even further the hydrocarbon industry dynamics, and the search for experience based solutions and innovation, both in the technological and methodological areas.

The oil and gas industry has been, and undoubtedly will remain, an essential activity in the country’s growth. It is therefore the intention of this Congress to gather national and foreign professionals, technicians, authorities and experts in the right venue to share knowledge, experiences and technological advances that will help improve the activities in our sector.

As is usual, different Symposia, the III Geotechnology Meetings, and Sessions will take place during the Congress.
All contributions and presentation of papers by professional and technicians in the industry that can enrich the technical contents of the Congress will be greatly appreciated.
